June 1, 2017

But fall is a long way off and summer is brand new. So what to do to stay cool? That is a hard ask in the desert, but luckily we have a pool. I am never swimsuit ready, but I won't let that stop me from taking a dip. I love to swim. I always have. I was one of those "fish" children. I like to think I was a dolphin in a past life (assuming there is such a thing).

Unfortunately, I can live my life in the pool. As much as my laptop doesn't like salt, it really hates the water. Go figure. LOL

So, here I am indoors in a room only cooled by a swamp cooler. A swamp cooler that is basically useless once the outside temperature exceeds 90 degrees. That is every dayin the summer when you live in the Mojave desert. Don't even ask how it feels in here when temps soar over 100, or worse, 110. Ugh.

I hate it. It makes me cranky. No one likes me when I am cranky. But that's ok, because I don't much like anyone else either.

So in an attempt to remember there are nice things about the desert and also to keep from saying something I shouldn't, I am just going to post some pictures I took at Red Rock Canyon Park, CA last month...

My Blog

Summer has arrived in the California desert and IT IS HOT.

I am not typically a fan of hot weather. I like the fall. I love watching the leaves change color and feeling a nip in the air. Plus, I look really great in autumnal hues.
